
Ingredients:-
- Raw banana -1 pealed and diced in big sizes
- yam :- 1 small or medium size piece diced into big sizes
- turmeric powder:-1/2 tsp
- 1 tsp:- chilli powder
- salt to taste
- beaten curd:-1 cup
- coconut-1 cup
- pepper corn-1 tsp
- mustard seed-1/2 tsp
- cumin seed-1 tsp
- green chillies-2-3
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp mustard seed
- 1/2 tsp urad daal
- 3-4 dry red chillies
- few curry leaves
Method
- Ina a mud pot add raw banana, yam, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt to taste. And 1 cup of water. Mix well . Cover with a lid and let it cook until all the vegetables are cooked well.
- Add beaten curd, mix well and let it boil and cook for few more minutes until the gravy thickens.
- Meanwhile, prepare the coconut paste, grind together, coconut,pepper corn, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and green chillies. To a fine paste.
- Add this coconut paste to the gravy, mix well abd cook for few more minutes until the gravy thickens. When it is done, switch off the gas ,and keep it aside
- To temper the curry, heat oil in kadai, add mustard seeds, and let it crackle. Add fenugreek seed and urad daal , dry red chillies and few curry leaves. Pour this into the curry and mix well. Delicious Sadya special Kalan is ready to serve. Serve it along with other sadya dishes
